SHISELWENI ARTIST MR DRIP M MAKES MARK IN AFRO-POP

NHLANGANO– Rising Afro-pop artist Sibusile Mkhonta, popularly known as Mr Drip M, is steadily gaining recognition in Eswatini’s music industry through hit songs, strong collaborations and outstanding performances that continue to elevate the Shiselweni sound.

Mr Drip M began his musical journey in 2014 while studying at Ngwane Central High School, where he started writing songs and developing his artistic identity.

In 2015, he recorded his first tracks at Mac San Music studio, taking a major step towards becoming a professional musician. Inspired by Nhlangano-based artist Kully Kay, he remained focused on improving his craft and building a name in the local music scene.

His breakthrough came in 2020 with the release of “Ubumnandi” featuring PC1 Mr No Effect, which received significant airplay on EBIS 2 radio station and introduced him to a wider audience.

The song marked a turning point in his career and encouraged him to continue working with other artists to grow his brand.

In 2023, he released “Imphumelo” featuring DJ Sandz, which was well received by fans and strengthened his presence in Afro-pop music.

Although he experienced challenges in 2025 during the release of the “Sbane Sami EP” due to disagreements with his producer, he remained determined to push forward and continue producing music.

His career gained more momentum after featuring on the hit song “Las’suka Khona” with Khuks and Daluvuyo, which topped Eswatini local charts for two weeks. He later released “Ngikubonile,” which received strong radio airplay and further increased his fan base across the country.

Mr Drip M was also given an opportunity to perform at the Shiselweni Arts and Culture NACCA Awards, where he showcased his talent and proudly represented his region on a bigger stage.

Through his dedication and passion for music, Mr Drip M continues to uplift Shiselweni artists and contribute positively to the growth of Eswatini’s Afro-pop industry.
