MBABANE— Eswatini artist Sanchiezy released his single “Siyabonga Gogo” today on the 21st of April 2026, a heartfelt tribute to the Indlovukazi, honouring her role as Queen Mother and pillar of nation-building, at a time when the Kingdom reflects on King Mswati III’s 40-year reign and 58th birthday.
The release has been described as a cultural offering that pays homage to royal leadership and traditional values, positioning the Indlovukazi as a symbol of strength, wisdom and unity. It also calls for national cohesion and appreciation of Swazi heritage through music, reinforcing respect for traditional institutions.
Sanchiezy, real name Mkhuleko Mangwe and known for his hit “Salukazane,” said his artistry continues to blend traditional sounds with modern influences to preserve cultural storytelling. “Siyabonga Gogo comes from a place of deep respect for our traditions and the leadership that guides us. I wanted to create something that speaks to both the young and old,” he said.
He explained that the inspiration behind the track came from engagement with elders and traditional leaders, with the project taking about three weeks to complete. He said the process was guided by a desire for authenticity and respect for royal values. “I spent time engaging with elders and listening to their perspectives. That experience shaped the message of the song and ensured it remained authentic,” he added.
Through the release, the artist hopes to inspire young people to value cultural leadership, strengthen national identity and recognise the role of elders in society. He stressed that the song is both a tribute and a message of gratitude and unity, encouraging reflection on the importance of preserving cultural heritage for future generations.
