MBABANE – Local is lekker!
Solani’s Shisanyama gave local talent centre stage at the Solani’s Send-off, which ushered in the New Year in style.
The establishment curated a show that featured an all local line-up of DJs only. The establishment is known for putting together the greatest international line-up. Just recently they hosted South African record producer, podcaster, fashionista, and DJ, Oscar Mbo, born Oscar Mbongeni Ndlovu.
The pictures that soon went viral proved that Eswatini indeed has the best DJs to master and deliver a show without any international artists as per norm in most instances.
When reached for comment, Solani’s Shisanyama’s Bhekiwe Khumalo, also known as Locco, expressed great gratitude to the establishments’ management for having an all-local line up, which proved to be a success as hundreds attended the show.
He said, “It was indeed a great show. It was great to see people come to support their own local artists.” He went on to add, “We would like to thank Solanis as well for giving local talent a chance to express their talent in Eswatini and at such an symbolic time of the year. We really appreciate the management for putting up the great line-up,” shared Locco.
The line-up included; Baybash, Ayacity, Rekorder, Dope Deep, Mayas, Locco, Sedkins, Ace4nic,Bandora,Lady Zee, ItslallBlaq, President, Bloss, Sgitha, Matamza, Obsession, Mbo, Teqnosoul, Sindiso, Sir Rhyhmic, Chifry, Maradona, Fantacy, and Ntux.
Entry was only E120.
The establishment has hosted big stars from Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Kelly Khumalo, and Zonke Dikana, and many more big names in the music industry from South Africa.
Early last year the establishment hosted South African female vocalist Mawhoo for the third edition of Solanis City Girls R’Up! The Amapiano star specialises in soothing musical genres. She was supported by an all-female local DJ, namely: DJ Expo, Black Pearl, Lady Zed, It’s All Blaq, Wassabee, The Prefect, Ash, Belinda Chester, Zo’leka, and Chantel. The City Girls R’ Up was initiated to empower female DJs as the industry is dominated by males; hence the need to host such shows.
