MBABANE – Eswatini’s education sector has received a positive boost as the latest Standard Five results reflect impressive achievements across schools, with many centres recording exceptionally high proficiency levels and commendable pass rates.
A significant number of schools achieved 100% success in the “Sufficient and Above” category, demonstrating growing learner commitment, stronger teaching support systems, and improved school performance indicators.
Overall Performance Encouraging
Across several primary schools, large cohorts of learners attained Excellent, Very Good and Good results, placing the majority of candidates in the Sufficient and Above range. These results reaffirm a positive academic culture and growing consistency in learner achievement.
Regional Highlights
Hhohho Region — Schools in urban and peri‑urban centres such as Mbabane, Ngwenya and surrounding areas displayed strong academic outcomes, with several institutions registering 100% pass performance. The region continues to demonstrate academic resilience, with many schools showing balanced results across performance bands.
Manzini Region — The nation’s education hub once again produced some of the highest numbers of schools with superior performance, reflecting effective school leadership and strengthened community support for education.
Lubombo Region — The Lubombo belt displayed encouraging progress, with multiple schools demonstrating continuous improvement and a positive upward trend.
Shiselweni Region — While some schools continue to face learning challenges, a notable number produced solid results and competitive pass rates, reflecting steady improvement and resilience.
Comparison with Last Year
Compared to last year’s results, this year shows greater stability and improvement in several centres — particularly those that have invested in learner support programmes, teacher development and improved classroom resources. Many schools that performed strongly previously have maintained or strengthened their standing.
