MBABANE – Eswatini-born Afro-Trap artist Sanele “Streetwise” Sihlongonyane, better known as Street Cooper, is making waves beyond the kingdom’s borders with his latest single “Inhlonipho”, which has officially debuted across South Africa’s top radio and television platforms.
The 2020 SWAMA Award-winning musician is enjoying a major career milestone after the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) approved the track for national airplay and synchronisation across its extensive media network. The song is now being broadcast on stations such as Lesedi FM, Ukhozi FM, Metro FM, Radio 2000, and Umhlobo Wenene FM.
What makes this achievement even more significant is that “Inhlonipho” has been cleared not only for traditional radio rotation but also for use across SABC television departments, including sports, education, and news, allowing it to be used as background and sync music—a huge step for any emerging artist.
“It’s a blessing to see this song being recognised and played nationally. I poured my heart into this record, and now it’s reaching people beyond borders,” said Street Cooper.
Produced by Brindajoy Beatz, “Inhlonipho” blends African rhythm with modern trap influences, crafting a unique sound that celebrates Swati identity while resonating across Southern Africa. The song’s first national radio appearance was on Lesedi FM, aired earlier this week.
According to the SABC music submission portal, the song was uploaded and approved on May 8, 2025, and is now listed across more than 28 national SABC radio and TV platforms.
As “Inhlonipho” garners more attention, this moment marks a significant leap forward for Street Cooper’s rising career, opening new doors in the regional music industry and shining a spotlight on Eswatini’s growing creative exports.
