MBABANE – As preparations intensify for the 2025/26 MTN Premier League, Ubombo Sugar FC has unveiled its technical team, showcasing a blend of continuity, experience, and development focus.
Leading the team from the dugout once again is Gcina Dlamini, who retains his role as Head Coach. Dlamini took over the reins mid-season last year and made an immediate impact guiding the club to a 6th-place finish in the MTN Premier League and a quarterfinal berth in the prestigious Ingwenyama Cup. His return signals the club’s confidence in his leadership and vision for long-term growth.
He will be assisted by seasoned tactician Sihle Mavimbela, who joins as 1st Assistant Coach and Goalkeeper Coach. Mavimbela brings a wealth of coaching experience, having previously worked with respected local clubs such as Red Rhinos, Rangers FC, and Piggs Peak Black Swallows. His dual role is expected to bolster both strategic depth and specialized training for the club’s goalkeepers.
Further supporting the coaching setup is Mandla Vilakati, who steps in as 2nd Assistant Coach, and Mandla Mthembu, taking on the crucial role of Physical Trainer to ensure peak fitness levels throughout the demanding season.
At the development level, Fani Sithole will continue to oversee the club’s Development Team, reaffirming Ubombo Sugar FC’s commitment to grooming young talent and strengthening the club’s future from the grassroots up.
The announcement was met with optimism from supporters and club officials alike, as the technical team represents both stability and ambition. With seasoned professionals on board and a clear developmental pathway in place, Ubombo Sugar FC is positioning itself as a serious contender in the upcoming campaign.
