SHISELWENI – The traditional wedding ceremony (umtsimba) uniting former HMCS Commissioner Mzuthini Ntshangase and Nokwazi Mkhwanazi was successfully held today, following a High Court decision that dismissed an urgent application seeking to halt the ceremony.

The application had been filed by Nothando Ntshangase a day earlier. After consideration, the High Court found no legal grounds to stop the traditional proceedings, thereby allowing the ceremony to proceed in accordance with Swati customary law.

The umtsimba was attended by several notable figures from the royal family, government, traditional leadership, law enforcement, and the media. Among those present were Princess Phumelele, Khandlela Mdluli, Sonnyboy Masende Zwane, Chief Makhosikhosi Khumalo, former Police Commissioner Isaac Magagula, Big Bend Police Officer-in-Charge Fikile Ntjangase, Superintendent Nokuthula Zwane, former ministers Ndlela Simelane and Makhalempi Ntjangase, the King’s driver Dumsane Zwane, Manqoba Ntjangase, Dr Mbukeni Ntjangase from Vryheid in South Africa, and Channel Yemaswati boss Qhawe Mamba.

The ceremony unfolded peacefully and with dignity, reflecting the strength of Swati customs and the respect accorded to traditional institutions. It marked a significant cultural milestone for the families involved and reaffirmed the continued relevance of Eswatini’s traditions in modern society.
