MBABANE – Members of the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) Red Cross chapter extended a helping hand to Gogo and Mkhulu Dlamini in Malkerns, assisting the elderly couple in relocating to a new tent provided by the Eswatini Sugar Association (ESA) and the Eswatini Red Cross Society.
The elderly couple had expressed, when receiving the donation, that due to their age and physical limitations, they did not have the strength to move their belongings to the new shelter. In response, the student group stepped in with compassion and energy.

According to Ncamsile Gama- Dlamini, the Branch Development Coordinator at the Eswatini Red Cross Society, the team spent the entire afternoon moving the couple and cleaning their household utensils. She also leads the National Society’s Resource Mobilisation initiatives.
The Eswatini Observer reported that ESA, in partnership with the Red Cross, launched a corporate social investment project worth E400 000 to support families affected by recent floods in areas such as Luve and Malkerns. The relief includes food hampers and temporary shelters to help families recover.
According to the same article, ESA Chief Executive Officer Banele Nyamane said the initiative is part of the association’s new strategy to support vulnerable communities. “We believe in delivering more than just products to the market,” he said, highlighting ESA’s ongoing collaboration with like-minded partners such as the Red Cross.
This publication also reported that Legit Stores at Riverstone Mall donated clothing valued at over E5 000 to the Red Cross on May 17.The donation will support disaster-affected families during the winter season, providing warmth and dignity to those in need.
These acts of kindness reflect a strong spirit of community and a commitment to lifting up those most in need across
