ESABELWENI – The Nazarene Baptist Church, also known as Shembe Church, leader , His Holiness Unyazi Lwezulu is godly and has unconditional love for all people.
This is according to Reverend Ntombela which he declared during a sermon at Esabelweni on May 27, 2026.
“Shembe does not want to see us suffer. There is nothing he loves above us as people on earth. The sad reality is that we repay him through disappointments. We are the reason he has sleepless nights, he thinks of us day and night,” said Reverend Ntombela.
The man of God asked church members to love Shembe back and said they must stop posting negative things about the church leader on social media platforms.
Reverend Ntombela warned congregates to always follow instructions by Shembe leader. He said Unyazi Lwezulu was respected and listened to both in heaven and on earth. The preacher said he had a broad daylight vision in 2012 where he saw four Kings in heaven, kneeling before and attentively listening to Unyazi Lwezulu. He alleged that in order to gain access to heaven after death, people ought to listen and respect the ‘god’ Unyazi Lwezulu while on earth.
“The living Shembe is the supreme god. He is above all, the dead and alive. I was surprised to see even his predecessor kneel before him as an elderly Shembe,” he said.
Meanwhile, the man of the cloth also alleged that God was against burial of a human being using a coffin or casket. He claimed that as per the Biblical declaration that the human body, formed out of soil, a dead person must be buried without the use of a coffin or casket.
The preacher informed congregants that relatives of a person, who had been buried using the coffin or casket must sacrifice two goats and a cow so that the deceased person may be accepted in heaven.
He said only a person buried directly on top of the soil has the honour to be accepted in heaven as they had supposedly obeyed the instruction of returning soil remains ‘the body’ to the soil as per Biblical instructions.
