SIGOMBENI– Gogo Katrine Ndzelaphi Mndzebele of Sigombeni under Dwalile Royal Kraal received a fully built and furnished house on 12 February 2026, a gesture of care and community support from the Usutu Royal Trust in partnership with Tibiyo TakaNgwane and Montigny Investments.
The handover ceremony was led by Dr A.T Dlamini, Managing Director of Tibiyo and Chairman of the Usutu Royal Trust. Dr Dlamini emphasized the importance of looking after the elderly, saying that caring for them is both a civic duty and a source of blessings for the community.
“This house is a symbol of our respect and gratitude for the elders who have nurtured and shaped our society,” Dr Dlamini said. He also thanked the DPM’s office, Tibiyo TakaNgwane, and Montigny Investments for their key contributions, as well as the leadership and people of Dwalile chiefdom for welcoming the project from its inception in September 2025 to completion in October 2025.
The new home comes complete with electricity, fencing, a water tank, and an adjacent pit latrine. The residence has been furnished to ensure comfort and convenience for Gogo Mndzebele.
Overcome with emotion, Gogo Mndzebele shed tears of joy as she stepped into her new home. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in the project and offered prayers of blessings for their generosity.
This initiative reflects the commitment of the Usutu Royal Trust and its partners to uplift communities and demonstrate that supporting vulnerable members of society leaves a lasting positive impact. It reinforces the message that no elder should be left without care and dignity.
