GAMULA – Day 2 of the Eswatini Bank Financed Projects tour brought inspiring sights at Vulamatfuba Farmers Pty Ltd, a thriving agricultural venture that’s making a meaningful impact in the community.
Matholeni Matsenjwa, Chairman of Vulamatfuba Farmers, proudly shared that the company has created employment opportunities for close to 100 Emaswati, a testament to the power of collaborative investment and determination.
The cooperative, consisting of 117 members, received a significant boost through a 30% funding share of E16.8 million from Eswatini Bank, complemented by E37 million from government through the Eswatini Water and Agricultural Development Enterprise (EWADE).
Located in the fertile fields of Gamula, Vulamatfuba Farmers is cultivating sugarcane on 184 hectares, bananas on 36 hectares, and a variety of other crops across 16 hectares. The project not only boosts food security but also fosters rural development and economic participation for local farmers.
“This project has changed lives,” said Matsenjwa. “We’re grateful for the partnerships that have made this possible. It’s more than just farming – it’s about building futures.”
The success of Vulamatfuba stands as a shining example of how strategic agricultural investments can uplift communities and stimulate sustainable development.
