HEREFORDS – Prayer is taking on a contemporary rhythm as Eswatini artists Mawande Simelane affectionately known as Maze Mozart and gospel musician Lindwayinkhosi Mpila combine Amapiano and gospel influences in their latest single, “Ng’lalele Bawo”, a song calling for spiritual strength, guidance and God’s attention.
The collaboration, produced through the artists’ shared creative connection in Buhleni, Herefords, brings together two musical worlds that are often presented separately — contemporary Amapiano and gospel — to deliver a message centred on faith.
At the heart of the song is the plea, “Cinisa umoya wami, Uve nemithantazo, Ngilalele Bawo,” which translates to a request for God to strengthen the spirit and listen to one’s prayers.
