MBABANE– In a move that proves authenticity still reigns supreme in Eswatini’s music landscape, rising star JimiBoi SD has officially found a home with Mabonwa Abulawe Records.
The signing was confirmed by the label’s director and founder, Young Zesh, who described the collaboration as a commitment to vision, growth, and long-term cultural impact.
Young Zesh revealed that the decision to sign JimiBoi SD was highly deliberate, focusing on identity and originality rather than fleeting trends. “At Mabonwa Abulawe Records, we do not just sign artists because of hype or trends—we sign artists because of identity, originality, and long-term vision,” Young Zesh explained. He noted that JimiBoi SD represents a “real” voice whose storytelling and honest sound connect naturally with audiences.
The label’s confidence in their new signee was forged on stage, where management witnessed the artist’s ability to command attention and connect emotionally with crowds. Young Zesh emphasized that this balance of stage presence and a strong work ethic behind the scenes inspired the label to take the next step. “We saw his consistency, his willingness to learn, and his ability to adapt in different performance environments,” Young Zesh remarked.
For JimiBoi SD, this partnership is the culmination of years of preparation. The label is currently finalizing preparations for JimiBoi SD’s debut single. These professional preparations include high-standard production, mixing, and marketing strategies to ensure the release serves as a solid foundation for his career. The artist will be working alongside industry heavyweights like Young Zesh and Lesia Musiq to define his sound.
