MBABANE– South African rising star Zee Nxumalo has been named the cover star of Apple Music’s Isgubhu playlist for March 2026, marking another major milestone in her fast-growing music career.
The multi-talented singer, known for her unique blend of Afro-pop and Amapiano influences, is currently celebrating the release of her latest single, “Awe Mah.”
Taking to social media, Nxumalo expressed gratitude to the global streaming platform for recognising her work.
“Thank you Apple Music for making me the cover star of Isgubhu!” she wrote. “Awe Mah is out now!”
The feature highlights Nxumalo’s journey from a viral social media breakout to a multi-platinum artist whose sound continues to resonate with audiences across Africa and beyond. Her latest track, “Awe Mah,” captures the vibrant spirit of youth, reflecting themes of confidence, ambition and celebration.
Nxumalo is among a new generation of African artists reshaping the continent’s music landscape through innovative sounds and global appeal.
Isgubhu, Apple Music’s flagship platform for African dance and electronic music, spotlights influential DJs, producers and emerging innovators shaping club culture across the continent.
Alongside the cover feature, Apple Music also released an exclusive Isgubhu DJ Mix curated by Grammy-nominated producer Vumaala, formerly known as Bubele Booi.
Vumaala, who has previously collaborated with global stars such as Beyoncé and Cynthia Erivo, described the mix as a “rhythmic prayer,” blending soulful gospel influences with the pulsating rhythms of Afrohouse and 3-step sounds.
The March 2026 Isgubhu playlist also features tracks from several prominent artists and producers, including Mpho.Wav, Jnr SA, Thakzin and the Sunday Service Choir.
