MANZINI– South African singer and performer Zee Nxumalo has revealed that she will not be attending this year’s Durban July, opting instead to take her music to Europe for an international performance.
In a post shared on her social media platforms, the award-winning artist wrote: “This year I will unfortunately not make it for Durban July but hello Europe.” The announcement was accompanied by artwork confirming her appearance at Afro Nation Portugal 2026, one of the world’s biggest Afrobeats and African music festivals. The event is scheduled to take place from 3 to 5 July 2026 in Portimão, Algarve, Portugal.
Zee Nxumalo’s participation marks another significant milestone in her career as she joins a growing list of African artists taking their music to global audiences through internationally recognised festivals.
While the Durban July has become one of South Africa’s most anticipated social and entertainment events, attracting celebrities, musicians and fashion enthusiasts each year, Zee Nxumalo’s decision highlights the increasing opportunities available to African artists on the international stage.
Known for her energetic performances and chart-topping hits, the singer has continued to grow her fan base beyond South Africa, earning recognition across the continent through her unique sound and collaborations. Her appearance at Afro Nation is expected to expose her music to thousands of festival-goers from around the world while further cementing her position as one of the continent’s rising stars.
