MANZINI – Students from Mbasheni Primary School and St Joseph’s High School graduated from the Swaziland Action Group Against Abuse (SWAGAA) Empowerment Club on 11 March 2026, an initiative supported by the Kindernothilfe (KNH) Project.
The graduation ceremony recognized the achievements of students who gained essential life skills, entrepreneurship knowledge, and leadership abilities through the programme. Parents, teachers, community leaders, religious figures, and the Indvuna Yenkhundla attended the event to honor the young graduates.
According to Lwandzisile Maseko, Communications and Advocacy Officer at SWAGAA, the programme works closely with schools, parents, and community leaders to equip learners with practical skills that prepare them for the future. A key focus of the project is promoting inclusive education, ensuring that all students, including those with disabilities, have equal opportunities to participate and thrive.
Students were also introduced to entrepreneurship through hands-on projects such as poultry businesses, where they gained experience in financial management, business development, and innovation. These activities encourage responsibility, creativity, and self-reliance.
Community representatives praised SWAGAA for its commitment to youth empowerment and the strong partnerships it has built with schools, families, and local leaders. They emphasized that initiatives like the Empowerment Club are vital in fostering inclusive learning environments and nurturing the next generation of responsible, skilled, and confident young adults.
The graduation celebrated not only the accomplishments of the 60 students but also the power of collaboration in shaping a brighter, more inclusive future for Eswatini’s youth.
