Government is advancing 75MW of solar projects alongside a 40MW biomass facility, backed by an allocation of E1.73 billion.
“These projects will significantly diversify our energy mix, reduce dependency on imported electricity and support industrial growth,” the Minister said.
More than 4,227 households were electrified during the past year, while solar home systems are reaching remote communities.
Energy security, he stressed, “is a prerequisite for sustainable economic development.”
With new power purchase agreements and expanding infrastructure, Eswatini is strengthening its energy independence while creating employment opportunities in the sector.
