MBABANE– Bigger and better!

Local model Nompumelelo (Lelo) Matsebula has described that her second fashion show to be held next month will be bigger and better.

The second edition of the Runway Revolution Fashion Show will take place on 29 March 2025 at Malkerns Square. The first edition was held last year at the same venue on April 6.

When reached for comment Matsebula confirmed to this publication that the second edition will have more designers with more creative clothes on display. The production will be bigger and better. She commented, “The first edition exceeded our expectations in respect of the response from the people who attended. The second edition is anticipated with excitement from everyone,” shared Matsebula.

It worth noting that there is no registration fee only portfolios presentation is required.

According to Matsebula this year’s production will bring a different vibe for the second edition, which they will keep a secret until the day.

When asked what lesson she took from the first edition, she said, “What I learnt from the first edition was that, the logistics of producing a professional show requires many skills that we learned along the way. This year, we are more experienced and will take the 2025 show to another level.”

When asked who can attend, she said, “All are welcome, and we look forward to guests displaying their own fashion sense. The main purpose is to showcase the design talents of up and coming designers and models. To encourage the participants to enter, there is no charge for designers and models. We also want to bring a professional event to the Kingdom that people can enjoy and experience,”.

The model, also known as Lelo Mkholo, is from Endlalambi under the Hhohho region. She came up with the name of the fashion show “The Runway Revolution” because it suggests a significant change or transformation happening within the fashion industry. It implies that the fashion show will showcase innovative and ground-breaking designs, challenging traditional norms and pushing boundaries.

Matsebula was first recognised during an international fashion show in Namibia known as the Katutura Fashion Week fifth edition, which took place from November 24th to 25th, 2023, at the Franco Namibia Cultural Centre. She became a model in 2019 and qualified to become a professional international model in 2022 after having her first diploma in modelling.

Tickets to the fashion show are available at Smartticket.co.za   and will also be sold at the gate. General E50 and VIP is E250.
