MBABANE- From the humble beginnings of Mbelebeleni in Hlathikhulu to the vibrant community of Sthobela, Cebile Mkhwanazi’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of faith and the unwavering call of music. Her story, aptly titled by her debut album “UYAMANGALISA” (Wonderful), is a powerful narrative of a young woman embracing her God-given talent to spread the message of Christ.
Mkhwanazi’s roots in Hlathikhulu provided the initial notes of her life’s song, which then found a new rhythm upon her relocation to Sthobela. It was here, in 2022, that her musical journey truly began to resonate. Deeply rooted in her Christian faith, Mkhwanazi is a devoted member of God is Alive Ministries under the guidance of Pastor KB Methula. Her spiritual foundation serves as the bedrock of her artistic expression.
The culmination of this burgeoning musical path arrived on November 29th, 2024, with the launch of her first album, “UYAMANGALISA.” The sacred space of Sithobela Evangelical Church echoed with the melodies that had been stirring within her. Now, her powerful voice and uplifting message are reaching a global audience, with her music readily available on all major online digital platforms.
For Mkhwanazi, singing transcends mere artistic expression; it is a divine calling. “Our main aim for this movement is that Christ must be known,” she passionately states. “Singing is also preaching the word. To me, singing is a calling from God, so as we are singing, we are also ministering the Word to people.” This conviction fuels her purpose, differentiating her approach from those who might view singing as simply a pastime. “As I’m singing, I’m working for God’s kingdom,” she affirms, underscoring her commitment to spreading the Gospel through her music.
This movement, initiated by Mkhwanazi as a young, upcoming artist eager to share her music, is not a solitary endeavor. Recognizing the power of unity and collaboration, she has joined forces with other emerging talents and has garnered support from established figures in the gospel music scene. One such notable mentor is Mbongseni Xaba, widely known as Zakewu Dilika emthini. This collaborative spirit amplifies their collective voice and broadens their reach.
With a heart set on reaching communities far and wide, Mkhwanazi and her fellow artists are embarking on a mission to share their music and message across Eswatini. Their itinerary includes visits to Big Bend, Manzini, Siphofaneni, Nhlangano, Mbabane, and numerous other locations. This tour is not just about promoting their music; it’s about sowing seeds of faith and touching lives through the power of gospel music.
Mkhwanazi’s story is a shining example of how personal journeys, when intertwined with unwavering faith and a clear sense of purpose, can blossom into something truly impactful. “UYAMANGALISA” is more than just an album title; it’s a declaration of the wonderful work God is doing in her life and through her music, a melody that is now ready to resonate across the nation and beyond.
