From captivating crowds on international stages to treating herself with a multimillion Emalangeni ride, Zee Nxumalo is proving that talent, passion, and hustle truly pay off.
Fresh off her electrifying performance on the Main Stage at the 18th edition of the MTN Bushfire Festival on May 31, the 22-year-old Afro-pop and Amapiano sensation has celebrated her soaring career by purchasing a Mercedes-Benz V300d, a luxury vehicle estimated at over E2 million.
The Eswatini-born star, born Zandile Nxumalo, shared the exciting news on her social media platforms, posting a picture of the new car with the caption, “My first born. What should we name him?” — a proud milestone marking her journey from rising talent to household name. She is seen the video celebrating with her family members including her grandmother as fetched the luxury car at the dealership.
Zee’s success didn’t happen overnight. She made her professional music debut at 19 with the single “Siyajola,” and since then, her career has skyrocketed. Known for her infectious rhythms and soulful melodies, she has become one of Southern Africa’s most celebrated young voices. Her popular track “Thula Mabota” has garnered over 5 million views on YouTube, cementing her position in the music industry.
Born in Eswatini on January 6, 2003, and raised in Alexandra, Johannesburg, Zee carries a rich cultural heritage with Liswati and Xhosa roots — something she proudly weaves into her music. She is also pursuing a Law degree at the University of Johannesburg, proving that she’s equally committed to her academic goals.
Zee’s recent performances include the MTN Bushfire Firefly Grand Finale and the Limpopo Marula Festival Reloaded, where she shared the stage with notable artists such as Makhadzi, Zonke Dikana, and King Monada. She’s also nominated for Best Kwaito/Gqom Song at the 2025 Metro FM Music Awards for her track “FOMO,” which features Goldmax, Dlala Thukzin, and Funky Qla.
At just 22, Zee Nxumalo’s journey is one of passion, persistence, and power moves. Her latest achievement — acquiring a luxurious car — is a symbol of her hard-earned success and a glimpse of even greater things to come.
