MBABANE – His Majesty King Mswati III has appointed new Principal Secretaries to four key ministries.
The announcement was made by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini during a briefing at the Private and Cabinet Office.
The newly appointed Principal Secretaries bring a wealth of experience from their previous senior roles and are expected to play a pivotal role in driving national development priorities under the leadership of the Prime Minister.
1. Prime Minister’s Office
Mr Bheki Bhembe, former Principal Secretary at both the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Planning and Development, has been appointed PS. Mr Bhembe is widely respected for his financial acumen and strategic insight into public sector management.
2. Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology (ICT)
Mr Andreas Dlamini, who previously served as Director of Communications, takes over as the new PS. With his deep understanding of digital communications, Mr Dlamini is well-placed to support Eswatini’s digital transformation agenda.
3. Ministry of Public Service
Mr Mthunzi Shabangu, former Commissioner of Labour, now steps into the role of Principal Secretary. His extensive background in labour administration is seen as a strong asset in advancing public sector reform and service delivery.
4. Ministry of Education and Training
Ms Nanikie Mnisi, formerly the Under Secretary for Administration in the same ministry, has been promoted to Principal Secretary. Her experience and dedication to education policy and administration are expected to bolster ongoing educational initiatives.
The PM congratulated the appointees and expressed confidence in their ability to deliver results aligned with the Kingdom’s vision for sustainable development and improved public service delivery.
“We are optimistic that these appointments will accelerate progress in their respective ministries. Each individual brings a proven track record of leadership and commitment to national development,” said the PM
These appointments mark another positive step in strengthening Eswatini’s governance and service excellence.
