MBABANE — A total of 37 police officers from across the kingdom have successfully completed the Traffic Management Course No: 1/2025 at Matsapha Police Academy, committing themselves to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethical conduct, and public service.
The course, designed to strengthen traffic management skills and improve road safety, brought together officers from diverse units of the Eswatini Police Service. Senior Deputy National Commissioner Melusi Shadrack Simelane, representing the National Commissioner of Police, officially closed the training with words of encouragement and guidance.
Simelane gave a clear and firm warning to the graduates: traffic officers must avoid all criminal, corrupt, and anti-social behaviour. “Stop engaging in corruption, aggression, stereotyping, or disorderly conduct,” he said. He stressed that integrity, discipline, and ethical policing are non-negotiable, essential for earning the trust and respect of the communities they serve.
Simelane highlighted that the officers’ professional development and commitment to integrity would directly contribute to reducing road accidents and enhancing safety across the country. He expressed confidence that the officers would apply their training effectively, serving as role models within their communities and setting a high standard for colleagues in the Police Service.
The Traffic Management Course forms part of a broader initiative by the Police Service to strengthen professionalism, ethical conduct, and public accountability. By combining technical skills with a strong focus on integrity, the program aims to ensure that Eswatini’s roads are safer and that the Police Service continues to earn the trust and confidence of the public.
As the graduates return to their respective communities, they carry not only the skills to manage traffic efficiently but also a clear pledge to uphold the values of honesty, discipline, and public service. Their dedication marks a significant step toward a more professional and respected Police Service.
