MBABANE – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has departed Eswatini for Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, where he will represent His Majesty King Mswati III and the nation at the highly anticipated World Government Summit (WGS) 2026.

The premier left in the afternoon of Sunday, February 1, 2026 via King Mswati III International Airport in Sikhuphe.

According to international media outlets, the annual global forum, under the theme “Shaping Future Governments,” will take place from 3 to 5 February 2026 in Dubai, bringing together world leaders, policymakers, innovators and thought leaders to collaborate on shaping better government strategies for the future.

Now in its 13th year, the World Government Summit has become one of the foremost international platforms for dialogue on governance, technological innovation, sustainable development and global cooperation. Since its inception in 2013, the Summit has grown in stature and influence, drawing participants from governments across the world, international organisations, academic institutions and the private sector.

The 2026 Summit is expected to be the largest in the event’s history, with more than 6 000 attendees, including representatives from over 150 governments, more than 35 heads of state and government, and more than 500 ministers. Delegates will explore pressing global challenges and opportunities, from digital transformation and economic resilience to climate adaptation and future demographics.

Hosted in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the Summit offers high-level forums, ministerial roundtables and a packed agenda of more than 320 sessions designed to foster innovation, strengthen international partnerships and drive tangible progress in public policy and governance.
