MBABANE – The office of Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Thulisile Dladla received a generous donation of 116 school bags valued at E15 000 from LINAC Group, trading as OK Foods Eswatini, on Friday morning.
Speaking during the handover, LINAC Group General Manager Sanele Dlamini said the company was inspired by the DPM’s office’s active role in supporting vulnerable groups, particularly children, the disabled, and the elderly.
“I want to try to be as politically correct as possible. I do not think I have seen this office as active as it currently is. Your commendable work is evident for all to see, which is why we, as OK Foods Eswatini, were encouraged to support your work,” he said.
Dlamini highlighted that the donation was made in response to previous requests from the DPM’s office to assist wherever possible, particularly in the ongoing Back-to-School Campaign 2026. He emphasised the importance of supporting children, describing them as the future employees and employers of Eswatini. He also assured that OK Foods Eswatini intends to continue supporting the campaign next year.
Receiving the donation, DPM Thulisile Dladla expressed heartfelt gratitude. She acknowledged the contribution as a vital part of ensuring that children across Eswatini are able to start the school year equipped and confident.
“Education is vital for our nation’s future. It is through education that we empower our children, nurture their talents, and prepare them to contribute meaningfully to Eswatini’s development. Yet, many families face challenges in providing even basic school necessities. This is why initiatives such as the Back-to-School Campaign are so crucial,” Dladla said.
The Deputy Prime Minister praised LINAC Group for demonstrating both corporate responsibility and a genuine commitment to the wellbeing of children. She noted that the donation not only eases the burden on parents but also restores dignity and confidence to learners walking into classrooms fully equipped to learn.
“I also wish to take this moment to acknowledge and appreciate the previous donation of school uniforms and jerseys made by LINAC Group. That contribution had a profound impact, ensuring that children at Embosi Primary School could attend school with pride, dignity, and a sense of belonging,” Dladla added.
The DPM emphasised that uniforms are more than just clothing; they represent equality, discipline, and unity among learners. By providing these essentials, LINAC Group has helped remove barriers that often discourage children from attending school. Their support reinforces the principle that every child deserves an inclusive, respectful, and empowering learning environment.
The donation reflects a strong partnership between government and the private sector in nurturing Eswatini’s next generation and ensuring that all children, regardless of circumstance, have access to the tools they need to succeed academically.
The Back-to-School Campaign continues to mobilise resources and support across the country, fostering a culture of shared responsibility for the education and welfare of Eswatini’s children.
