MBABANE- A total of 19 Emaswati citizens have safely returned home from the State of Qatar, as the Government intensifies efforts to repatriate nationals from the Gulf region during the current challenging period.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has confirmed that the evacuation process is progressing steadily, with more citizens expected to arrive in the country later today.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Senator Pholile Shakantu announced the latest development, highlighting government’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the safe return of EmaSwati from the region.
“Today, we are pleased to report that 19 EmaSwati have arrived home from the State of Qatar as part of our continued efforts to evacuate our citizens,” said the Minister.
She added that the process remains active and that additional citizens are expected to arrive shortly.
“The evacuation process is still ongoing, and we expect more arrivals later today from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” she said.
The government emphasized that the evacuation initiative is being carried out in line with the directive of His Majesty King Mswati III, who has commanded that all EmaSwati in affected areas be assisted to return home safely.
According to the Ministry, Government remains fully committed to executing the command of His Majesty during what it described as a difficult period currently being experienced in the region.
Authorities have also expressed gratitude to citizens for their patience and cooperation while the repatriation exercise continues.
“We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of all citizens as we work diligently to ensure the safety and return of our people,” the Ministry stated.
Government has assured the nation that efforts will continue until all EmaSwati who wish to return home from the Gulf region are safely repatriated.
