MANZINI – At just 26, Senzokuhle Bonginkosi Xaba, widely known as Trey Orsonz, has turned a painful childhood into a powerful story of resilience and entrepreneurship. Born in Manzini and originally from Mankayane, Trey’s journey reflects determination, survival, and vision.
Growing up was far from easy. After losing his father at the age of two, Trey was raised in different homes as his young mother struggled to care for him. Moving from one relative to another, he often faced neglect and hardship. It was not until 2017 that he finally found stability and was enrolled at Mankayane High School.
His breakthrough came unexpectedly. Inspired by a childhood desire to own stylish clothes, Trey bought his first pair of sneakers from Wear Well. Excited, he shared a picture online. Within moments, someone offered to buy them at double the price. That single sale sparked a business idea that would change his life.
Determined to succeed, Trey began sourcing sneakers and clothes, posting them online and building a loyal customer base. While studying Music Design at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, he balanced academics with his growing business. His hustle was not easy,travelling across borders, sleeping in kombis, and enduring long nights,but he remained focused.
Today, Trey runs a physical clothing and sneaker business and has even caught the attention of major brands like MTN, earning a spot on their billboard campaigns. Despite facing jealousy and criticism, he remains grounded and driven by his past.
“I know where I come from and what I want,” he says. “Success to me means freedom.”
Known for his quiet and focused nature, Trey says he is often misunderstood. While many see him as flashy, he describes himself as an introvert who prefers staying home and learning about business.
Looking ahead, Trey dreams of expanding his business across Eswatini and beyond, while also giving back by supporting disadvantaged children.
His message is simple,no matter your background, success is possible with focus, discipline, and belief.
