MBABANE For many, he is the man with the famous blanket who makes the internet laugh, but Sekwanele Mamba, widely known as Three Oclock Da Spitter, is ready to remind the nation that his first love has always been the microphone.

The Siphofaneni, born star, who has captured the hearts of over 43 000 followers across Facebook and TikTok, has officially released his new single titled ‘Litjalo Lami’, featuring Ndlondlokazi. The track, produced by Kasi Kid in Siphofaneni, is a soulful blend of Hip Hop and Afro-pop that serves as a testament to his journey of perseverance.

The message behind ‘Litjalo Lami’ is one of profound gratitude. Through the lyrics, Three Oclock offers thanks to God and even acknowledges his trademark blanket for helping pave a smoother path after a period of intense struggle. It is a song dedicated to his journey, serving as a heartfelt “thank you” to the followers who believed in his talent when things were difficult.

Three Oclock’s path to fame was not the one he originally envisioned. “I actually stopped making music for a while because of financial struggles,” he recalls. “I went to find work in South Africa, specifically in Giyani, Mpumalanga Province.” It was there, in a foreign place where he knew no one and had no access to a recording studio, that his life took an unexpected turn. “I was broke and feeling down about my job. I remembered how, back in primary school, I promised my mother I would be a pilot. But there I was, far from that dream.”

In a moment of vulnerability and humor, he shot a video that would change everything. The video, which went viral, featured his now-famous line: “I want to be a doctor, then suddenly, eish, it turns out chickens have more money!” (translated from “I want to be a doctor then jikijiki eshh fana tinkhukhu tinemali”). While he never set out to be a comedian or a content creator, he views his social media success as a gift from above. “I wanted to do music, but we never know God’s plans. He made His own way for me to be recognized.”

One of the most recognizable parts of his brand is the blanket he wears in his videos. What started as a necessity during a difficult time became a symbol of his identity. “I didn’t have a good background for my content back then, so I just used my blanket,” he explains. “I found out my followers loved it and laughed with me. Now, every day I am growing in the industry, getting bookings and promotion deals.”

Despite his comedic fame, Three Oclock emphasizes that he has been a “full musician” since 2016, a journey that began when he was in Form Two as part of a group called Swazi Killer Boyz. Now that he is firmly back in the music industry, the artist has set his sights on major collaborations. He expressed a strong desire to work with industry giants such as Passion Master, N Kay, and Smally, looking to merge his unique style with their established sounds.

Fans can currently find the new single exclusively on YouTube. For those looking to see the star in person, he remains highly active on social media, with booking details for Oclock Blackmamba pinned on his Facebook and TikTok bios. As he balances his rising status as a content creator with his musical roots, Three Oclock Da Spitter is proving that no matter how long the detour, talent will always find its way home.
