NHLANGANO – Communities gathered in large numbers on April 11, 2026, as the Nhlangano Roadshow moved from Nhlangano Park to the town bus rank, mobilising emaSwati ahead of the commemoration of Mswati III’s 40 years of leadership, in a vibrant show of unity, culture and national pride.
Led by the Ministry of Home Affairs and hosted by the Nhlangano Town Council, the roadshow formed part of ongoing national efforts to bring celebrations closer to communities, strengthening participation and shared identity as the country prepares for the historic milestone.
As the procession made its way through town, residents lined the streets, singing, dancing and celebrating, while lively sibhaca performances, colourful cultural displays and music from the Correctional Services Band transformed Nhlangano into a stage of national pride. Drum majorettes from Nyamane and Makhonza High Schools added rhythm and energy, while MC Sandile “Sweet Banana” Dlamini kept the crowd engaged throughout.
For many, the roadshow was more than entertainment. It created a space for ordinary emaSwati to take part in a moment of national significance, reflecting on the country’s journey of peace, stability and development under His Majesty’s leadership.
A Grade 7 learner from Evelyn Baring Primary School, Wakhile Dlamini, expressed gratitude for the King’s leadership.
“We are grateful that the King has led us for many years. He has taken care of us, protected us and guided the nation through many challenges,” said Wakhile, wishing His Majesty continued strength and wisdom.
Sicelo Mthunzi from Zombodze Inkhundla shared his excitement after participating in the celebrations.
“I am very happy to be part of those celebrating the King. Today I even received a T-shirt, and I feel proud to wear it. Long live the King,” he said.
The strong turnout, cultural expression and community participation highlighted growing excitement across the country, as emaSwati continue to unite in celebration of four decades of leadership.
