MALKERNS — The fifth edition of the Makoti Festival is set to make history with the introduction of a brand-new Dance Stage, as organisers expand the event to two stages for the first time. The festival will take place on 02 May 2026 at Malkerns Country Club, featuring over 40 acts.
The newly unveiled Dance Stage aims to create more space for DJs to showcase their talent, while strengthening the festival’s mission to promote local artistry and cultural exchange. DJs from Eswatini, South Africa, Mozambique and Lesotho are expected to take to the stage, bringing a diverse mix of sounds and styles.
Among those set to perform are rising local DJs Touch of Soul (Thabo Mnisi), AyaCity (Ayanda Motsa), and Bandora (Bandisi Dlamini), all of whom expressed excitement about being part of the milestone edition.
Touch of Soul, who will be making his debut, said he is both humbled and excited to perform. He promised festival-goers a unique “Touch of Soul experience”, filled with good vibes and fresh music. He also revealed that he looks forward to seeing Nothando Hlophe perform and plans to introduce new material during his set
AyaCity also shared his enthusiasm about his first appearance at the festival, saying fans can expect new music, including collaborations with South African artists. He added that he is eager to watch performances by Nothando Hlophe and Young Zesh.
Bandora, another first-time performer at the festival, said he is ready to deliver a powerful R&B and hip-hop set. He encouraged fans to come prepared to dance, adding that he is particularly excited to witness Nothando Hlophe’s performance, describing her recent work as “generational”.
The Dance Stage is expected to be a major highlight, featuring a wide lineup of DJs including DJ Zinhle, Mdu AKA TRP, DJ Dilson, SkyWhite and many more, alongside local talent.
Powered by Orchard Insurance, the Makoti Festival continues to celebrate Eswatini’s rich culture while giving a platform to emerging and established artists.
