SOMHLOLO TO HOST ESSA MANZINI BRANCH FOOTBALL FINALS

LOBAMBA– The stage is set for an exciting day of school football as the ESSA Manzini Branch semi-finals and finals take place at Somhlolo National Stadium on Friday.

Four schools will compete for the championship in a tournament expected to showcase some of the best young football talent in the region. Manzini Central will open the action against Masundvwini in the first semi-final scheduled for 8:30am.

The second semi-final will follow at 11:00am, where Ngwane Park will lock horns with St Paul’s for a place in the final. The winners of the two matches will then meet in the final at 2:00pm to determine the overall champions.

The tournament comes at a time when school football continues to grow in popularity across Eswatini, with learners using the platform to display their talent and passion for the game.

Supporters are expected to come out in large numbers to cheer on their respective schools in what promises to be a highly competitive football spectacle . Only one team is  set to lift the trophy at the end of the day, the pressure will be on the players to deliver strong performances on the big stage.

The competition also highlights the role played by the Eswatini School Sports Association (ESSA) in promoting sports development among young people through organised school tournaments.
