MBABANE — Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla on Wednesday, 20 May 2026, handed over two newly built Neighborhood Care Points at Lufasini and Madelezini in Mayiwane Inkhundla, while the Inyatsi Foundation donated food parcels worth E10 000 to support vulnerable children and families who depend on the centres for daily meals and care.

The facilities, constructed through funding from PMI in Switzerland, were officially opened on 20 May 2026 in an event that quickly turned into a major show of support for struggling households in the constituency.

To help stock the newly opened centres, Inyatsi Group Executive Chairman Michelo Shakantu, through the Inyatsi Foundation, donated cooking oil, tinned food and juice valued at E10 000. Dladla also arrived with additional donations of rice, beans and cooking oil for the two care points.

For years, caregivers at Lufasini prepared meals in a crumbling makeshift structure without roofing, exposing both food and volunteers to harsh weather conditions. At Madelezini, meals for vulnerable children were cooked under trees, with caregivers forced to work in unsafe and undignified conditions.

The completion of the new care points has now changed that reality. The modern facilities provide proper kitchens and safer spaces where meals can be prepared in hygienic conditions, restoring dignity to caregivers while ensuring children receive nutritious meals in a healthier environment.

Speaking during the handover, Dladla highlighted the importance of partnerships in improving the welfare of vulnerable emaSwati, particularly children who rely on Neighborhood Care Points for survival and support. The Deputy Prime Minister also acknowledged the role played by PMI in Switzerland for funding the construction project, describing the new centres as a lifeline for families facing hardship.

Representing the Inyatsi Foundation, Inyatsi Group Marketing and Public Relations Manager Ncobile Dlamini commended His Majesty’s Government, through the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, for continuing to prioritise the welfare of vulnerable communities.

She said the Foundation’s donation formed part of the Group’s commitment to giving back to communities and supporting initiatives that directly improve people’s lives. Ncobile further praised Shakantu for his continued passion for uplifting vulnerable groups and backing impactful social development programmes across the country.

Member of Parliament for Mayiwane Sicelo Dlamini expressed gratitude to Dladla and His Majesty King Mswati III for continued support towards vulnerable families and development initiatives within the constituency.

For the children who gather daily at the care points, the handover represented more than the opening of buildings. It marked the arrival of safer kitchens, reliable meals and renewed hope for families who have long depended on community support to survive.
