NYAKENI – Government has committed to creating equal opportunities for all, regardless of their physical condition.
This was revealed by Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Bongani Nzima, through Eswatini National Youth Council (ENYC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lwazi Mamba during the Commemoration of Disability Culture Day at Nyakeni Inkhundla on May 23, 2026.
The minister said it was a great pleasure to take part at the important Disability Culture Day event.
Nzima thanked Langalethu Charity Organisation for inviting the government to be part of such a wonderful occasion.
On the day, he said, they gathered to remind eac other of the importance of non-discrimination, while also celebrating the talents, culture, and contributions that people with disabilities make towards the development of the country.
“The Government of His Majesty continues to commit itself to creating equal opportunities for all emaSwati, regardless of their physical condition. Through programmes in sports, culture, and youth development, the Ministry continues to encourage and ensure that people living with disabilities are not left behind,” said the minister.
He noted that they knew that culture has the power to unite communities and preserve people’s identity, which was why events such as the one at Nyakeni were very important in eliminating discrimination within society.
“I would like to thank the organisers of this event, families, caregivers, and everyone who continues to support people living with disabilities. Your work is visible, especially in building the Kingdom of Eswatini into an example for other nations in ensuring equal opportunities for all people,” said Nzima.
The legislator also encouraged everyone who has dedicated themselves and played a role in ensuring the event was a success to continue using their talents to become positive examples within the community.
He assured that the Ministry will continue working together with organisations and communities to ensure that no one is left behind in the development of the country.
