MBABANE – Deputy National Commissioner, Wendy Hleta, led a delegation to Namibia for Police Day celebrations on Friday where she had the honour to award best performing graduating cadet constables.
According to a statement by REPS, in a spirit of strengthening ties and fostering collaboration on security and safety matters, the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) delegation, led by Deputy National Commissioner of Police, Wendy Hleta, alongside Assistant Superintendent Sibusiso Dlamini and Sergeant Abigail Madolo joined other SARPCOO member states, for the Namibian Police Force (NAMPOL) graduation ceremony held, May 22, 2026, at the Oshakati Independence Stadium.
“A total of 1,380 cadet constables graduated after completing an 8-month training program at the Ruben Danger Ashipala Police Training Centre and the Simon Mutumba Mutumba Police Training Centre. The theme of the event was “Courage Under Pressure. Honour in Service,” emphasising the resilience, bravery, and dedication required in the policeservice,” read the statement.
The event was officiated by Honorable Lucia Lipumbu, Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security. Also present was Namibia Police Acting Inspector General,Major General Anne-Marie Nainda, along with numerous police Chiefs and other dignitaries.
In her address, the Minister congratulated the graduates for reaching this significant milestone, officially becoming full-fledged police officers committed to serving their nation with integrity and dedication. She also reminded them that their role demands unwavering courage to uphold the law, even under the most challenging circumstances.
During the ceremony, Hleta had the honor of handing over awards to outstanding performers. Cadet Constables Amoomo E. and Imatuka H. N.S. were awarded for their excellence in Physical Education at the Ruben Danger Ashipala Police Training Centre.
