MBABANE – EmaSwati students have been handed a rare opportunity to pursue higher education in Europe following the announcement of fully funded scholarships to study at the Cyprus University of Technology under the Republic of Cyprus’ Cyprus Aid programme.
Applications for the scholarships will close on June 12, 2026.
The scholarships were announced by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security in collaboration with the Republic of Cyprus through the Cyprus Aid programme under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the public announcement, the scholarships are open to students interested in pursuing undergraduate studies in Nursing, Culinary Arts as well as Hotel and Tourism Management.
The programmes available include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, which runs for four years, together with Higher Diplomas in Culinary Arts and Hotel and Tourism Management, both running for three years.
The scholarship package covers full tuition fees, accommodation in university dormitories for the entire duration of studies, a monthly stipend of 400 Euros, laptop support of up to 500 Euros and annual airfare support of up to 1 000 Euros for students to visit home.
In addition, the scholarship will also cover entry permit fees, residence permit fees, compulsory medical examination fees and individual medical insurance.
The Ministry said applicants are required to submit copies of their national identity documents and valid passports, high school leaving certificates as well as proof of English language proficiency.
Applicants have been encouraged to read the application submission guide carefully before attempting to apply.
Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Makhosini Mndawe, signed the public announcement.
The scholarship programme is expected to create life-changing educational opportunities for young emaSwati while also strengthening skills development in key sectors such as healthcare, tourism and hospitality.
