MBABANE– Eswatini is set to take another step towards strengthening professional networking and public sector leadership with the launch of the ESAMI Eswatini Alumni Association and a networking dinner scheduled for Friday, at Happy Valley Resort in Ezulwini.

The event follows a courtesy visit by the Director General of the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI), Professor Peter Kiuluku, to Secretary to Cabinet Victor Nxumalo, where both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in public service capacity building and leadership development.

According to the Ministry of Public Service, the discussions focused on expanding collaboration between the Government of Eswatini and ESAMI to enhance the skills of public servants, strengthen institutions and improve service delivery. Professor Kiuluku is visiting the Kingdom to engage key stakeholders on ESAMI’s executive education and capacity development programmes, reinforcing the institute’s support for sustainable governance and human capital development.

The launch of the Eswatini Alumni Association is expected to bring together graduates of ESAMI programmes from both the public and private sectors, creating a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, mentorship and continued professional development.

Headquartered in Arusha, Tanzania, ESAMI is a regional intergovernmental management development institution jointly owned by ten member states, including Eswatini. Established in 1979 and operational since 1980, the institute provides executive education, postgraduate programmes, consultancy and management research aimed at improving leadership and organisational performance across Africa. Over the years, it has trained more than 85,000 middle and senior-level professionals and has been recognised by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) as a Centre of Excellence in Management Development.

The anticipated launch is expected to strengthen ties among ESAMI alumni while supporting Eswatini’s efforts to build a highly skilled, professional and effective public service capable of driving national development.
