MANZINI – Fresh from being crowned champions of the 2026 Eswatini Schools Choral Music Competition, Edwaleni High School Choir is preparing for another major assignment as it heads to South Africa to represent Eswatini at the 5th Annual Choral Festival in Richards Bay on the 1st of August 2026
The choir will represent both the Kingdom of Eswatini and the Shiselweni Region at the festival, where it is also set to perform alongside the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra. The invitation follows a successful year for the choir, which strengthened its reputation after emerging victorious at this year’s national schools choral championships.
Edwaleni’s latest achievement has cemented the school’s place among Eswatini’s leading school choirs, with its disciplined performances and vocal excellence continuing to earn recognition both at home and beyond the country’s borders. The upcoming appearance in Richards Bay presents another opportunity for the choir to showcase the standard of choral music being nurtured in Eswatini.
The annual festival is expected to bring together choirs and musicians from across the region in a celebration of choral music, collaboration and cultural exchange. For the Edwaleni singers, the event offers more than just a performance, providing an opportunity to share experiences with fellow choristers while gaining exposure on an international stage.
