MANZINI – Eswatini’s working class is in for a memorable Workers’ Day as a high-energy celebration featuring top musical talent takes centre stage on 01 May 2026.
Set to be held at The X-Change Lounge & Shisanyama, the event is headlined by renowned South African maskandi artist Mthandeni SK, promising a vibrant mix of culture, music, and celebration. Organised under the Zaimarn Birthday Tour, the event aims to give workers a meaningful and entertaining way to mark the public holiday.
According to Xchange marketing officer Meluleki Simelane Sluga, the choice of Mthandeni SK as the headline act was deliberate. He explained that the artist’s music resonates strongly with everyday people, making him the perfect fit for an occasion dedicated to workers. His authentic maskandi sound, deeply rooted in culture, is expected to strike a chord with attendees.
The event will not only spotlight the headline act but also feature a diverse lineup including True Classic (M Nation & Histo), DJ Deckshake, and Emisofly. Supporting acts such as Teesto, Sintour, Blvck, HarmoniQ, Rooro, Cnatra, Bisto, KorruptKid, and Snypper are also set to keep the energy high throughout the day. Hosting duties will be handled by Zaimarn and Fahima, adding flair and engagement to the programme.
Beyond the music, organisers say the celebration carries a deeper purpose. Simelane highlighted that the event is designed to honour workers by offering them a space to relax, connect, and feel appreciated for their contributions. He described it as a moment of unity and pride, where workers can momentarily step away from their daily routines.
Planning such an event on a public holiday has not been without its challenges. With multiple competing events and logistical demands, organisers had to act early to secure talent and create a standout experience. Their focus, Simelane noted, has been on delivering quality and value.
Tickets have been priced to remain accessible, with pre-sale going for E100 and E150 at the gate. Marketing campaigns have leaned heavily on affordability, excitement, and cultural relevance to attract a wide audience.
With a strong lineup and a clear purpose, the Workers’ Day Celebration is expected to draw large crowds eager to celebrate through music, culture, and shared experience.
