MBABANE– A dynamic South African performance collective, The Cirk, is set to deliver a breath taking fusion of acrobatics, theatre and visual storytelling at the MTN Bushfire 2026 edition.
Festival organisers confirmed that The Cirk will form part of the three-day event scheduled from 29 to 31 May, bringing a reimagined take on circus arts that blends daring physicality with creative expression. The group is expected to transform the festival space with performances that challenge traditional boundaries of stage and audience interaction.
Originating from South Africa’s creative scene, The Cirk has built a reputation for pushing artistic limits through gravity-defying acts, suspended movement and immersive storytelling. Unlike conventional performances, the collective will not be confined to a single stage, instead roaming the festival grounds to deliver spontaneous acts across different areas of the venue.
Organisers say this approach is aimed at enhancing audience engagement, allowing festival-goers to encounter moments of spectacle unexpectedly, as the performers integrate seamlessly into the vibrant Bushfire environment.
In addition to their roaming performances, The Cirk will also cater to younger audiences through interactive workshops at the festival’s Kidzone. These sessions are designed to provide children with a safe and playful environment to explore rhythm, movement and imagination, reinforcing the festival’s inclusive and family-friendly ethos.
MTN Bushfire, widely regarded as one of Eswatini’s premier cultural events, continues to attract a diverse line-up of artists from across the globe. The inclusion of The Cirk highlights the festival’s commitment to offering multidisciplinary performances that extend beyond music, creating a rich and immersive cultural experience.
