EZULWINI – Eswatini’s turntable sensation Nosimilo Dlamini, popularly known as Sergy, has reached a major career milestone after one of her latest videos went viral, racking up one million views on Facebook Reels within just one day.
The viral clip shows Sergy participating in the trending Zep TikTok dance challenge, combining her DJ persona with her energetic dance performance style — a blend that quickly caught the attention of viewers online and spread rapidly across social media platforms.
For the Ezulwini-based entertainer, the overwhelming response has been both exciting and surprising. She said seeing the video reach such a milestone in such a short time felt almost unreal.
“I’m still in disbelief,” Sergy said. “I always used to see this happening to other people, but I never imagined I would reach one million views in a single day. The best part is that these numbers are completely organic. I didn’t boost the video at all, which shows that people genuinely love what I’m doing.”
The viral moment has also sparked rapid growth across her social media platforms. Within a short period, her following jumped from 3.1 thousand to about 7.8 thousand followers, a development she believes will strengthen her presence in the entertainment industry.
According to Sergy, the increase in online visibility is already creating opportunities for her career. She explained that a larger digital audience makes it easier for artists to connect with promoters and event organisers locally and internationally.
“The more followers I have, the easier it becomes to approach promoters both inside and outside Eswatini,” she said. “This exposure is already opening doors for me. It has already secured me a booking at Coyotes Nkomanzi for a Ladies’ Night event, and I’m hoping for many more opportunities.”
Sergy’s viral success is the latest highlight in a journey shaped by creativity and performance. Before stepping behind the decks, she was a professional dancer, a background that continues to influence her unique stage presence since transitioning into DJing in 2016.
Her ability to combine dance with DJ performances has helped her stand out in the industry, taking her from performances in Enyonyane to stages in Belgium, France and other parts of Africa.
Whether playing Afro-house, 3-step or Afro-tech, Sergy says her performance-driven approach is what keeps audiences engaged.
“I don’t just play music — I perform it,” she said. “Being unique is the key to surviving in this industry. Creating content that people have not seen before makes the work enjoyable and keeps the audience interested.”
Looking ahead to the rest of 2026, Sergy says she plans to continue building on the momentum created by the viral video by producing more creative content and collaborating with other dancers and artists.
“I promise my fans more content and more collaborations with dancers and artists,” she said.
As she continues navigating a competitive and often male-dominated industry, Sergy encourages aspiring DJs to remain focused and consistent in pursuing their goals.“Stay consistent, pray for your work, and own your space,” she advised.
With ambitions of performing at major festivals across Africa and Europe, Sergy believes the viral moment is only the beginning of greater opportunities ahead.
