MBABANE – Precision, teamwork and determination propelled His Majesty’s Correctional Services to an outstanding medal haul at the BOAB Darts National Championships 2026, inspiring pride while strengthening hopes of representing Eswatini internationally.
His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS) once again proved that excellence goes beyond correctional facilities after its darts team delivered an exceptional performance at the fourth BOAB Darts National Championships 2026, held at the Gwamile VOCTIM Hall.
The national tournament brought together some of Eswatini’s finest darts players in a battle of accuracy, focus and sportsmanship. Beyond the medals, the competition carried even greater significance as it served as the official selection platform for players who will represent Eswatini at the Region Five Darts Tournament in Botswana next month.
HMCS emerged as one of the tournament’s standout teams, collecting medals in every category and demonstrating the remarkable sporting talent that continues to flourish within the Service.
The team secured a silver medal in the team event after displaying outstanding unity and consistency throughout the competition. Their runners-up finish reflected the discipline and teamwork that have become synonymous with HMCS both on and off the playing field.
In the doubles category, Thando Madzinane from Big Bend and Bonkhe Madzinane battled through tough matches to earn a bronze medal, impressing spectators with their composure and determination.
The biggest moment of the championships came in the men’s singles competition, where Flag Nxumalo from Malkerns Complex was crowned the 2026 National Champion. His exceptional accuracy and calmness under pressure saw him rise above the country’s best players to claim the coveted title.
Former national champion Senzo Fakudze of the Rapid Response Unit once again demonstrated his class by securing a bronze medal, proving his consistency after winning the championship in 2025.
HMCS women also delivered memorable performances. Thobile Gumedze from Matsapha Industries fought her way to a silver medal in the women’s singles, while Simphiwe Madzinane added another bronze medal, ensuring the Service celebrated success across all divisions.
The impressive medal haul reflects HMCS’ commitment to promoting wellness, discipline and holistic staff development through sport. It also highlights how sporting excellence continues to unite officers from different stations while nurturing talent capable of competing on regional and international stages.
As Eswatini prepares for the Region Five Darts Tournament in Botswana, HMCS athletes have given the nation every reason to believe that more success lies ahead.
