LOBAMBA– Some of Eswatini’s and South Africa’s biggest entertainment personalities are preparing to swap microphones, concert stages and television screens for football boots when Kingdom Celebrity Club (KCC) takes on HipHop FC at Somhlolo National Stadium on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
The highly anticipated celebrity football match is expected to bring together musicians, DJs, content creators and media personalities from both countries in an event designed to promote unity, networking and collaboration within the entertainment industry. Gates will open at 10am, with tickets selling for E30 through Smart Ticket.
The KCC squad features well-known local entertainers, including Sancheziey, Young Zesh, DJ 1D, Zulu D, Aya City, Gogo Eswatini, Fantasy, Mdura, Lyrikal Busta, Sgitha and Greg Mamba, among others. They will face a star-studded HipHop FC side captained by South African rapper Big Zulu, alongside Cassper Nyovest, Donald, William Last KRM, Sweet Guluva, Shizzy and several other popular personalities.
Beyond the final whistle, organisers say the event is aimed at strengthening relationships between Eswatini and South African creatives while promoting healthy lifestyles through sport. The initiative is also expected to create opportunities for future collaborations in music, media and business between artists from the two neighbouring countries.
Local artist Sancheziey, who will represent KCC, believes the initiative is already making a positive impact.
“This is about team building and creating a platform for networking between local and South African celebrities. Besides helping us stay active and fit, this concept will also create opportunities for future collaborations. I appreciate the organising team. I’ve attended two practice matches and I can already see my improvement. I believe that when August 1 arrives, we will win the match,” he said.
With preparations already in full swing, fans can expect far more than just football. The event promises exciting entertainment, friendly rivalry and memorable moments as celebrities showcase another side of their talents before what is expected to be a vibrant crowd at Somhlolo National Stadium.
Whether supporting KCC or HipHop FC, spectators can look forward to a unique sporting spectacle where football and entertainment come together in one of Eswatini’s most exciting celebrity events of the year.
