MBABANE – South African music sensation Makhadzi has promised to return to Eswatini with a one-woman show after receiving what she described as overwhelming love from thousands of fans during her headline performance at the 10th edition of the Biggest Braai.
The award-winning singer took to her official Facebook page after the event to express her gratitude to emaSwati, saying the support she received had left a lasting impression on her career.
Although she has previously visited Eswatini, Makhadzi said Saturday’s performance was her first time headlining a major show in the Kingdom on her own.
“This was not my first time going to Swaziland, but yesterday was my first show in Swaziland headlining alone. I managed to pull plus 20 000 people yesterday. Swaziland, you owe me nothing. I owe you a one-woman show next year. You are now on my bucket list,” she wrote.
The Number 1 hitmaker went on to declare that the love she experienced in Eswatini had strengthened her confidence as an African artist.
“Allow me to say it today. I am an African superstar. I now know I have more than 20 000 people that believe in me in Swaziland,” she added.
Makhadzi also used the opportunity to encourage her Eswatini supporters to stream her upcoming EP, scheduled for release on Friday, 31 July. She further invited her fans to attend her concert at Peter Mokaba Stadium in South Africa on 24 December, urging them to prepare their passports for the trip.
Her heartfelt message quickly attracted thousands of reactions and comments from emaSwati, many thanking her for delivering a high-energy performance at the Biggest Braai and expressing excitement over her promise to return for a dedicated concert.
The singer’s comments have further cemented the strong bond between Makhadzi and her Eswatini fanbase, with many now eagerly anticipating what could be her first-ever one-woman show in the Kingdom next year.
