MANZINI – Eswatini independent artist Cool Drop has released a deeply personal single, Sphiwo Sami, using his own experiences of rejection, criticism and perseverance to deliver a message of hope to listeners pursuing their dreams.
The song, whose title translates to My Gift, reflects on the artist’s musical journey and the challenges he has encountered while trying to establish himself in the industry. Rather than focusing on setbacks, the single emphasises faith, resilience and the belief that God-given talent cannot be taken away by circumstances or the opinions of others.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Cool Drop said Sphiwo Sami is more than just another release. “Sphiwo Sami is a very personal song because it tells my own story. The gift I’m talking about is the talent God gave me to sing and create music. Throughout my journey, I’ve faced many challenges, criticism and people who doubted me or tried to discourage me. But I never stopped believing that what God has given me cannot be taken away by anyone,” he said.
According to the artist, the song was written not only as a reflection of his own experiences but also to encourage others facing similar struggles. “I wasn’t just thinking about myself when I wrote this song. I was thinking about everyone who is fighting silent battles while trying to achieve their dreams. I wanted to create something that would encourage people to keep pushing forward, trust God’s timing and stay focused on their purpose,” he said.
Cool Drop said he hopes listeners will connect with the song regardless of whether they are musicians, students, entrepreneurs or professionals pursuing different ambitions.
He described the release as another milestone in his career as an independent artist, adding that each project represents growth and a chance to inspire others through music.
“Sphiwo Sami is more than just a song it’s a reminder that every gift has a purpose. I hope listeners don’t only enjoy the music, but also find strength, hope and motivation whenever they hear it,” he said.
