PIGG’S PEAK – In a united stand against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), the Piggs Peak Town Council has called on residents to take part in a community-wide awareness campaign aimed at promoting safety, respect, and support for survivors. The initiative seeks to encourage open conversations about GBV while urging community members to report abuse and stand together in the fight against violence.
The Gender-Based Violence Awareness Campaign will take place on Friday, 31 July 2026, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Piggs Peak Bus Rank. The event aims to bring together residents, stakeholders, and community leaders in a shared commitment to raising awareness and fostering a culture where abuse is no longer tolerated.
Through the campaign, the Town Council hopes to educate the public about the devastating effects of gender-based violence, empower victims and survivors to seek help, and inspire communities to become active participants in preventing abuse.
In its call to the public, the Council stressed that silence often enables violence to continue unchecked, while speaking out can help protect lives and bring hope to those affected.

The campaign also serves as a reminder that ending gender-based violence requires collective action from families, community leaders, institutions, and individuals. By attending the event, residents will demonstrate solidarity with survivors and reaffirm their commitment to building a safer and more respectful Piggs Peak.
The Piggs Peak Town Council has encouraged all community members to participate in the campaign, emphasizing that every voice and every presence contributes to creating a violence-free society.
