PIGG’S PEAK- MHLATANE High School’s French language programme is set for an international boost after its French teacher, Lomalungelo B. Dlamini, departed for France to take part in a seven-month educational exchange programme.
Dlamini, who is part of a delegation under an initiative of the Ministry of Education and Training, landed safely in France on 27 September 2026 and is expected to return to Eswatini in May 2027.
Her participation forms part of efforts to strengthen the teaching and learning of French in Eswatini by giving educators an opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to the language, culture and educational environment of France.
For Mhlatane High School, the exchange is expected to provide Dlamini with experiences and knowledge that can contribute to enriching the school’s French programme and exposing learners to broader opportunities associated with language learning and cultural exchange.
The school has expressed pride in having one of its educators participate in the international programme, while wishing her a fruitful and memorable stay in France.
The exchange also provides an opportunity for the teacher to represent Mhlatane High School and Eswatini while gaining experiences that she can share with learners and fellow educators upon her return.
Mhlatane High School encouraged its learners to embrace foreign-language learning and the opportunities that come with understanding different cultures.
Ms Dlamini is expected back in Eswatini in May 2027, when the school hopes to benefit from the knowledge and experiences gained during her seven-month exchange.
