PIGGS PEAK- The Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) has vowed to improve its engagement with taxpayers across its social media platforms and other communication channels as part of efforts to strengthen trust and improve service delivery.
Speaking during the ERS initiative at Gobolondlo, Senior Tax Auditor/Tax Administration and Compliance Officer Sifiso Dlamini said the revenue authority was committed to adopting a relationship-based approach when serving clients.
Dlamini said ERS recognised the importance of maintaining strong relationships with taxpayers, particularly by ensuring that clients receive timely, clear and reliable assistance when seeking tax-related information or services.
He said the organisation would continue working to improve its presence and responsiveness on social media platforms, where many taxpayers increasingly seek information and engage service providers.

According to Dlamini, building trust between ERS and its clients is essential to improving voluntary tax compliance. He said taxpayers should feel that they can approach the revenue authority for assistance and receive appropriate guidance on their tax obligations.
The relationship-based service approach is expected to place greater emphasis on understanding clients’ needs while also ensuring that businesses and individuals comply with the country’s tax laws.
Dlamini’s remarks form part of ERS’ broader efforts to strengthen taxpayer engagement and make tax administration more accessible, particularly for small and micro businesses.
The initiative seeks to bring ERS services closer to taxpayers by improving communication, providing dedicated support and creating stronger links between the revenue authority and the business community.
