MBABANE – Government leaders, development partners, and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors gathered at the EBIS Auditorium for the official launch of Asibambaneni Sibengumndeni Season 2, a programme dedicated to addressing social challenges and strengthening families across the country.
The event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister, Thulisile Dladla, Minister of Education and Training Owen Nxumalo, Minister of ICT Savannah Maziya, senior government officials, and representatives from various organisations committed to community development.
Asibambaneni Sibengumndeni, broadcast on EBIS Radio and Eswatini TV, provides a platform for communities to openly discuss family related and social challenges while connecting vulnerable individuals with support structures and services. Through real life stories and community engagement, the programme seeks to promote healing, unity, and practical solutions to challenges affecting families.
During the launch, Busisekile Gamedze and Khaya Dlamini presented the programme’s work, outlining how the initiative engages communities and responds to issues affecting households across the country. Attendees were also given an opportunity to watch selected programme previews showcasing some of the challenges faced by families and communities.
The Deputy Prime Minister commended EBIS and Eswatini TV for their efforts in bringing important social issues to the forefront and encouraging collaborative solutions. She also shared valuable insights on the importance of addressing challenges through collective action and community support.
ICT Minister Savannah Maziya praised the Deputy Prime Minister for her dedication and unwavering commitment to serving the nation. Meanwhile, Education Minister Owen Nxumalo said he was deeply touched by one of the programme’s featured stories and pledged that the education sector would contribute towards supporting those in need.
The EBIS Director also addressed attendees, expressing gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister for her outstanding leadership and continued support for initiatives aimed at improving the lives of emaSwati.
The launch marked a significant step forward for Season 2, reinforcing a shared commitment to building stronger families, empowering communities, and creating a more caring and united Eswatini.
