MBABANE – After nearly four years of uncertainty, hope has finally been restored for 22 former civil servants who were laid off in 2021 when the ICT and Mechanisation Departments were abolished.

NAPSAWU President Bawinile Ndlovu has confirmed that the workers, who had not received salaries since September 2021, have now been reinstated onto the government payroll. This breakthrough follows successful negotiations between NAPSAWU and the Ministry of Public Service.

“This is a major victory for workers’ rights and social justice,” said Ndlovu. “These individuals have waited patiently, and we are proud that our efforts have led to their reinstatement.”

The move marks a positive step towards fair labor practices in Eswatini’s public sector and is expected to bring relief to the affected families.
