LOBAMBA – Young Buffaloes FC Ladies underlined their dominance in Eswatini women’s football after successfully defending their Ingwenyama Cup crown with a convincing 4–0 victory over Manzini Wanderers FC Ladies at Somhlolo National Stadium.
From the opening whistle, the army side showed intent, controlling possession and dictating the tempo of the final. Their attacking movement, quick passing, and clinical finishing proved too strong for Manzini Wanderers, who struggled to contain the relentless pressure throughout the match. The result reflected a complete performance from a team that has set high standards in the domestic women’s game.
The triumph confirmed back-to-back Ingwenyama Cup titles for Young Buffaloes Ladies, adding another major trophy to their growing cabinet and reinforcing their status as a dominant force in national competitions. The team, coached by Fisiwe Hlophe, demonstrated discipline, tactical organisation, and attacking confidence in a final where they never lost control.
The victory also capped off a remarkable 2024/25 season for the club. Earlier in the campaign, Young Buffaloes Ladies secured the Women’s Football League title, completing a domestic double and highlighting their consistency across all competitions.
Individual brilliance further highlighted their successful season. Celiwe Nkambule was named Player of the Season for her outstanding performances, while Welile Ndwandwe enjoyed a standout year, claiming both Best Defender and Top Goal Scorer awards—an unusual but impressive achievement that reflects her all-round impact on the team.
The final attracted a strong crowd at Somhlolo National Stadium, where supporters witnessed a commanding display of women’s football and celebrated another historic achievement for the champions.
Young Buffaloes Ladies now stand firmly as one of the most successful and consistent teams in Eswatini women’s football, with their back-to-back Ingwenyama Cup victories marking yet another milestone in their rising legacy.
