MBABANE – Chippa United are already making bold moves ahead of the 2025/26 season, signaling their intent to strengthen key areas as they prepare for another challenging campaign in the South African Premier Division. Central to their plans is the pursuit of Eswatini international striker Justice Figuareido, currently playing his trade with Richards Bay FC.
The Natal Rich Boyz have been in advanced talks with Chippa united over the transfer of the 26-year-old forward, with an undisclosed fee reportedly agreed upon between the clubs. Figuareido, who has made 52 appearances over two seasons for the Bay, boasts six goals and three assists to his name. Known for his pace and clinical finishing, the Eswatini international is seen as the ideal fit to bolster Chippa’s attacking options, especially after the club struggled upfront last season, netting just 28 goals in 28 league matches.
Chippa’s front line was further depleted when they lost prolific striker Elmo Kambindu to AmaZulu in January and released Bienvenu Eva Nga recently. The club’s technical team believes Figuareido’s style matches their tactical approach, making him a prime target to lead the line.
On the coaching front, Chippa United have also made significant strides by appointing Musa Nyatama as assistant coach to head coach Sinethemba Badela. Nyatama, who previously coached Swallows FC, joins a newly shaped technical team that includes Sporting Director Sinesipho Mali. This revamped setup aims to bring fresh ideas and stability to the club’s football operations.
Interestingly, Chippa had also approached former Orlando Pirates winger Mark Mayambela for a role, but the veteran player opted against the opportunity, leaving the door open for Nyatama’s appointment.
With personal terms reportedly not a hurdle, the final step in securing Figuareido’s services hinges on the completion of medicals once the club-to-club agreement is finalized. If all goes to plan, Chippa United fans can look forward to seeing the Eswatini star donning the Chilli Boys’ colors next season, spearheading their attack with renewed vigor and ambition.
